Day 01: Singapore - Siem Reap (D)
This afternoon we fly on SilkAir MI 633 to Siem Reap (1425 hrs / 1535). On arrival, we meet our local guide and bus then transfer to hotel for check in. This evening we sample the local cuisine . Accommodation

Day 02 : Temples of Angkor (B,L,D)
The temples of Angkor which represent 600 years (802-1432) of Khmer civilisation - one of Asia greatest Kingdoms. We visit the incredible fortified city of Angkor Thom and ˜The Bayon (12th century) and its beautifully crafted central towers. After lunch, we visit Angkor Wat, built in the 12th century the temple took 30 years to complete and represents the Khmer civilisation at its grandest. We then enjoy the sunset at the world largest sacred building and architectural masterpiece. Accommodation

Day 03: Tonle Sap Lake - Danang (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel . This morning we head to Tonle Sap Lake where enjoy a brief cruise past floating villages complete with schools, restaurants, and hospitals. Lunch a a local restaurant. This afternoon we transfer to SiemReap Airport for flight to Danang, the forth largest city of Vietnam by the lovely Han River one of the most rapidly developed cities. This evening we sample the local seafood in a restaurant set afloat on the river. Accommodation

Day 04: Danang - My son - Hoi An (B,L,D)
This morning transfer from your hotel to My Son, the Holy Land of Champa Kingdom dating back to 7th to 13 centuries and a UNESCO listed site . We then drive to Hoi An for lunch, Hoi An- the Living Museum, once a major trading ort of Southeast Asia in the 17th to 19th centuries. The town retains its ancient buildings and streets architecturally influenced by Japanese, Chinese and Colonial French. We enjoy a walking tour to visit the historic sites of the town. This evening we sample the specialties of Hoi An and a big chance for you to have your clothes tailor-made here. Accommodation

Day 05: Hoi An - Marble Mts - Hue (B,L,D)
This morning we head to Marble Mountains which are locally named after five universal elements of Fire, Water, Metal, Earth and Wood. We also visit the marble carving village before heading to Hai van Pass, Lang Co Beach and Hue. Hue, divided by the Perfume River, is famous as a centre of Buddhism, art and literature, and most notably as the last imperial capital of Vietnam. Accommodation:

Day 06: Hue to Danang - Singapore (B,L)
We visit the Citadel, former home to the emperors and travel by dragon boat along the Perfume River to Thien Mu pagoda. Then visit the tombs of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh before driving back to Danang for flight to Singapore. Tour ends

After lunch we drive to Hai van Pass, Lang Co Beach before reaching Hue, divided by the Perfume River, is famous as a centre of Buddhism, art and literature, and most notably as the last imperial capital of Vietnam. Day 06: Imperial City and Royal tombs (B,L,D)
Today We visit the Citadel, former home to the emperors and travel by dragon boat along the Perfume River to Thien Mu pagoda. Then visit the tombs of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. Day 07: Phong Nha Caves (B,L,D)
This morning we drive to Quang Binh in a one day trip to the World Natural Heritage Caves of Phong Nha. We boat cruise on Son river toenjoy two 800 metre long caves which house fascinating stalactites and stalagmites. We head back to Hue for accommodation.

Day 08: Hue - Thanh Tan Hot Spring - Danang Shopping - Singapore (B,L)
This early morning we drive back to Danang for last minute shopping and flight to Singapore. Tour ends

Hoi An, a World Heritage Site

Location: Hoi An is an old town down the Thu Bon River, on the coastal plain of Quang Nam Province, about 30 km south of Danang.
Characteristics: The architectural significance of Hoi An has been recognized by UNESCO, during the 23rd Congress which took place in Marrakech (Morocco) from the 29th of November to the 4th of December, since the town was officially listed as a World Heritage Site.

After a long period of absence from the tourist map, this lovely town started to draw the attention of visitors and researchers at the beginning of the 1980’s. What is so special about Hoi An is that this little port town is in an incredible state of preservation. It offers some of the most densely concentrated sights in Vietnam with its old streets bordered with ancient houses and assembly halls, its pagodas, temples, ancient wells and tombs. In total, more than a thousand places of interest.
The architecture of Hoi An is characterised by a harmonious blend of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese influences. After many centuries, Hoi An is still respectful of its traditions, folk festivals, beliefs and of its sophisticated culinary art.

Set in a quiet environment, Hoi An is surrounded by peaceful villages, a beautiful river, the sea and sunny beaches. Offshore, Cu Lao Cham Islands are very famous for sheltering their prized birds’ nests.

Merchant Houses

Many of the old merchant houses are lived in by the locals, but fortunately are beautifully preserved. They ca be typically described as having a narrow and lofty interior with a barrel vault ceiling. The street entrance has a shop front where the merchant used to display his goods. This is still used for his purpose n modern Hoi An with its numerous galleries and antique shops. There is also a back room where the merchant’s family, apprentices and servants lived. The entire inside of the house is made of deeply polished hardwood. Walls, columns and entrances are decorated with poems, words, symbols, and patterns. Much of the heavy ornate furniture are originals, however some pieces are replicas. Private houses in this style open to travelers include Tan Ky House that has staff that speak fluent English and French. Japanese Bridge (chua Cau) This bridge was built in 1953 by the Japanese, although this may be hard to pick by its name! Its base is made of stone and the rest of ironwood, jackwood and other hardwoods. The bridge’s purity has been ruined over time with Chinese and Vietnamese ornamentation. There is a pagoda built into one side of the bridge. The bridge is still used as a popular thoroughfare and is on the western end of Tran Phu street.

Hoi An

Hoi An town is small and peaceful, the kind of place where you may get stuck for a few days, whether it is intentional or not. Originally known as Faifo, this antique town is bordered on its southern side by the Thu Bon River, along which there's a number of small cafes. Despite the fact that it is now a tourist haven, the artistic atmosphere and local friendly people create an inviting environment. Hoi An was an important port developed in 17th century and remained so for a long time. There used to be canals parallel to the streets, so merchandise could be loaded straight from the back of houses onto the boats. Hoi An’s continuance as a port lasted right up until the early years of the 20 century, when the river became silted up forcing the cargo ships to call at Da Nang instead. In the past Hoi An has been used by the Japanese, Portuguese, Dutch, French and the large remaining Chinese community where all sorts of produce and wares were traded. Remnants of these past traders’ influences can still be seen lining the streets of Hoi An. There are nine different types of historical sites in Hoi An with an average age of 200 years. They include private houses, family chapels, community halls, communal houses, temples, pagodas, bridges, wells and tombs. Many of these buildings have been maintained close to their original form, allowing you imagination to recreate a prosperous trading town. The houses are small and colorful with wooden doors and two round "wooden house's eyes" above, window shutters and ornamental furniture. A pleasant change from the iron bars and metal grates of other towns. Hoi An is full of shops selling artwork, from lifelike memorial family portraits, to stylized images of Hoi An houses and streets. Next door to the art shops are places selling souvenir statues, ceramic plates, and ‘antique’ bowls. At the market place beside the river, you can pick up almost anything you want. Tourists are often being lured into the markets to buy silk and to have quality garments tailor made. You can have anything from dresses and trousers to shirts and hats made for a cheap price. Another noticeable quality of Hoi An is its relative silence. There are few cars and people do not feel the urge to use their horns every two seconds. The streets are filled with the hum of voices, motorbikes and the shuffling of thongs along the ground. Hoi An is small enough to get around on foot, and you will need a set of wheels if you are going to Cue Dai Beach, or on a day trip to the Marble Mountains or Da Nang. A relaxing activity around sunset is to hire a boat from the waterside by the market place. Many of the locals will wait on the river and offer you this service throughout the day and night
